QUID
The quantity of characterising ingredients: when it is needed and how it is calculated (Article 22 and Annex VIII).
Průvodce je k dispozici v italštině a angličtině: zde je uvedena anglická verze.
QUID (Quantitative Ingredient Declaration) is an ingredient's percentage, shown in the ingredient list next to its name: "extra virgin olive oil (9.5%)".
When it is mandatory
Under Article 22 of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 QUID is required when the ingredient:
- appears in the name of the food ("breadsticks with extra virgin olive oil and rosemary");
- is emphasised on the label in words or pictures;
- is essential to characterise the product.
In the composition's QUID column, Auto shows the percentage when the name of the food names the ingredient; for other cases choose Show. Hide removes it. If the name of the food names an ingredient without QUID, Completeness flags it.
How it is calculated
QUID is calculated on the finished product, after weight loss (Annex VIII):
- in general, from the weight at the time of use relative to the finished product;
- if the result exceeds 100% (as with heavily dried products), the weight of the ingredient used to make 100 g of product is given.
For groups you can set the Group QUID, for example the share of the dough.
Decimals
In Settings › Labels › QUID decimals choose one decimal ("butter (26.3%)") or none ("butter (26%)").
