Review and approval

A label becomes final when you approve it: a version is created with date and author that never changes again. Only an approved label can be exported or added to catalogs and the spec sheet.

Approving

When Completeness has no errors, press Approve at the top of the editor. The confirmation says how many labels will be created, one per active market, and that the version cannot be edited afterwards. Every later change needs a new approval.

• Each approved label uses one of the plan's approvals (see Plans and billing).
• If nothing changed since the last approval, no new version is created and nothing is used.
• During the free trial approved labels carry a watermark: after buying a plan, approve them again for a clean version.

Submitting for review

With Submit for review the author freezes the label calculated at that moment for each active market and asks a colleague to check it. You can add a note for the approver. Submitting does not use plan approvals. Those who can approve get a notification.

The reviewer can:

• Approve: the version in review becomes approved;
• Request changes, with a comment: the labels go back to draft and the author gets a notification with the comment.

If the draft changes after submission, the review no longer applies: submit it again before approving.

Separate approval (four eyes)

In Settings › Labels › Approval you can turn on Separate approval (four eyes): whoever creates a version cannot approve or reject it, and editors do not approve. Labels must always be submitted for review first and another person approves them. It is the right choice when a food technologist or quality manager must check every label.

After approval

The confirmation notice offers Open and export, which leads to the print studio. All the product's versions are in the Versions tab (see Versions, comparison and restore).
